Mixed Media Memory Box with Crealies Squares

Mixed Media Photo Holder
Hi crafters sharing a special project to showcase the new Crealies Square dies...
a Photo Holder/ Memory Box in Mixed media style.

I mixed and matched squares from 2 Crealies die sets
(Crea-Nest-Lies XXL no. 8 and no. 85) to create the base.

Love how perfectly the 2 die sets coordinate to give a huge assortment of
size choices for matting and creation of frames.

The box has cute metal feet and a variety of lace trims.

The sides are accordion folded paper strips  dressed up with the
octagonal lace design from Crealies .

I made a detachable roof  made of acetate and die cuts made with the Crealies   Decorette XL No. 02  which is also used on the sides and as a loop on the front.

Since such a lovely  box needs to be used for something special I thought it would be good as a "memory box" to hold photos! The "memories" you see is a Crealies  diecut and it is placed on the Crealies  Partz No.31 and encrusted with flower pearls .

In the lower square I added a square frame with pearls , 2 pearly hearts, a brass key and a clock which are perfect for the concept of the "memory box photo holder !

And how can I have a post without sharing a few tips.... So here is a mini Tutorial of sorts explaining how you can make a 3 dimensional lily  from a flat flower die cut.

Easy Flower Tutorial
I used the Crealies  Uno no.51  and  Set of 3 no.51 flower dies to make the flowers.
You need only 6 petals so cut away the rest .
Don't discard the petals you cut away as you can use it to make flower buds.
Ink the center of the flower as shown and tie a bunch of stamen for the center.

Place the flower with the inked surface away from you on a perforating pad/soft mouse pad and run a metal tool/pen over the petals from outside to inside.

This will curl the petals as shown

Now turn the piece over as shown below

Apply glue to the lower center and one petal and glue the stamen bunch inside
and forming a 5 petal flower as you glue one petal over the other.

I arranged the flowers in such a way that they are seen rising from a flower vase. I made the cute flower vase at home using a chocolate mould and resin! The design on the vase was made using  the Crealies  Decorette XL No. 02 die.

It was so fun using not only the new Crealies  Squares dies but a whole bunch of exclusive Crealies  dies to make this special project and I hope you liked this idea.
